An advocate for women’s political parity at all levels of government
Priti Rao’s rise from intern to executive director of the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus (MWPC) epitomizes the goals of the multi-partisan, nonprofit organization: maximizing the participation of women in the political process, mentoring future political leaders, and increasing the number of women appointed and elected to public office and public policy positions.
Her leadership helped fuel the successful campaigns of five women endorsed by the MWPC and elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2008 and the 2009 election of the first woman of color to serve on the Boston City Council. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she is a veteran grassroots campaign worker and organizer.
